Firefighters from the Monroe Fire Protection District and Ellettsville Fire Department battled a structure fire early Monday morning, causing the roof of a home on W Deckard Drive to collapse, according to a Monroe Fire Protection District Facebook post.
Emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 3 a.m. on June 9 in response to reports of flames visible from a residence’s roof. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered heavy fire involvement in the roof and immediately began suppression efforts.
During the firefight, the roof of the home collapsed, complicating the situation. Crews worked for several hours to bring the fire under control and completely extinguish it.
There were no injuries reported, and the fire’s cause is still being investigated.
