A driver was taken into custody following the Hamptons hit-and-run death of a realtor who was featured on Netflix's Million Dollar Beach House.

Sara Burack, a luxury real estate agent featured on Netflix’s Million Dollar Beach House, was killed in a hit-and-run in Hampton Bays on Thursday, authorities reported.

At 2:45 a.m., Southampton Town Police and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to a 911 call. They discovered Burack, 40, unconscious on Montauk Highway near the Villa Paul Restaurant.

She sustained severe head trauma and multiple broken bones. Despite being rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, Burack died from her injuries later that afternoon.

The New York Post reported late Friday that local police arrested a 32-year-old Virginia woman. According to the Post, Amanda Kempton was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, a class D felony punishable by up to four years in prison.

The Independent contacted police, but did not receive an immediate response. Burack, a real estate veteran, joined Nest Seekers International in 2012 and left about a year later, but he remains close to the company, according to Geoff Gifkins, the Hamptons regional manager.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends,” Gifkins wrote in a message. “Please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends.”

Burack gained wider recognition for her role in Million Dollar Beach House, which aired in 2020 and highlighted the fierce competition among agents selling luxury Hamptons real estate.

“My family has a commercial construction material sales business that I spent many years of my life working for,” Burack told Hamptons.com in 2020. “I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent.”

“I’ve spent half of the year in the Hamptons for the past 11 years. “It was only natural to turn my passion for real estate into a thriving career,” she added.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Burack has volunteered with the ASPCA, Southampton Animal Shelter, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and contributed to philanthropic efforts in New York City.
