Erie County, Ohio – A pound puppy has found new life as the Margaretta Elementary School Resource Dog!

Chloe, a 10-month-old Golden Retriever, is partnered with Erie County Sheriff’s Office Dep. Dan Eubank, the Margaretta Elementary School Resource Officer.

ECSO stated that she was obtained by the Erie County Dog Pound with the assistance of Erie County Dog Warden Barb Knapp.

However, the newest member of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office will not enforce the law with her four paws…

Chloe has begun training as an emotional support and crisis response K-9 with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside Dep. Eubanks.

“She will be working with him daily to provide positive interactions with the students and staff at the school,” a spokeswoman said. “The team will also be visiting other local schools periodically and will be available at any time to assist other law enforcement agencies or school districts as needed.”

“As can be seen in the attached photos, Chloe has already been very well-received by the students at Margaretta Elementary,” according to ECSO.

“We’d like to thank the entire community, the Margaretta Local Schools, and the Erie County Commissioners for their continued support of our K-9 program,” according to ECSO.
