A documentary about microplastics will be shown on South Bass Island

Put-in-Bay — Ripples of Plastic, a 2024 documentary about microplastic pollution in the Great Lakes, will be shown for free Saturday at Put-in-Bay’s Aquatic Visitor Center.

Advance registration is required for the 2 p.m. screening. Those who want to attend should contact Jill Bartolotta at [email protected].

There is limited parking available near the center at 360 W. Shore Boulevard. Attendees are encouraged to walk or use public transportation.

A panel discussion will follow, featuring Sherri Mason, a microplastic researcher at Gannon University; Joshua Dykstra, the founder and director of Eriesponsible, Inc.; and Ms. Bartolotta, an Ohio Sea Grant and Ohio State University Stone Laboratory education specialist.
