Mansfield — Eversource, the state’s largest power company, reported more than 300 power outages in Mansfield Tuesday morning as a result of a car accident.

The majority of the outages were restored by 5:30 a.m., according to the company’s outage map. As of 5:45 a.m., the power company reported fewer than 80 power outages in Mansfield.

According to the local Mansfield fire department, Route 32 at Route 31 is currently closed and will be for some time. The crash involved “several utility poles,” according to a social media post from Mansfield Fire and Emergency Services.

Connecticut State Police said troopers were dispatched to Route 32, also known as Stafford Road, in Mansfield around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday for a single vehicle that collided with a building.

There were minor injuries reported, and state police said the building inspector determined the structural damage to be minor. According to state police, a wrecker was dispatched and the crash scene was cleared at 4 a.m.

The intersection is still closed for utility repairs, and Eversource was still on the scene around 6 a.m., according to state police.

The agency reported that a “utility pole was an additional point of contact from this crash.”

CT Roads, the state’s traffic monitoring site, reported that Route 32 between Cider Mill Road and Stearns Road was closed Tuesday morning due to a one-vehicle crash. The website also showed that Route 31 was closed between South Street Extension and Route 32.

According to Eversource, more than 100 outages were reported near Mansfield, Windham, and Lebanon. The power company’s map indicated that the outages were caused by tree limbs.
