Sioux Falls, South Dakota – Rapid City police were dispatched to the 700 block of E. Anamosa Street around 1:20 a.m. Thursday after receiving a report of gunshots heard in the area, according to an RCPD press release.
Arriving officers spoke with several witnesses and were directed to an apartment at 729 E. Anamosa Street. Police found several shell casings outside the apartment.
After speaking with multiple apartment tenants who were present at the time of the shooting, police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Rapid City resident Bellminon Trujillo.
According to police, Trujillo was clearly impaired by alcohol when he was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated/reckless discharge of a firearm and transported to the Pennington County Jail.
There were no reported injuries from the shooting.
