Mercer County, Ohio — The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing 89-year-old man.
Roger Stachler was reported missing by his wife shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. She told police that he was at their home at 1766 State Route 118 near St. Henry at noon when she left for work. When she returned, she couldn’t find him.
Police investigated the property, surrounding fields, and wooded areas. The sheriff’s office, the St. Henry Police and Fire Departments, the Coldwater Police Department, and several neighbors and community members all contributed to the search. The Ohio State Highway Patrol also dispatched a helicopter from Columbus. The search was called off at 1 a.m. Monday and will resume later that morning.
Roger Stachler stands 5’9″ and weighs 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a black T-shirt, and a black baseball cap. Roger is said to be extremely unsteady on his feet. Anyone with information should call the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office at (419) 586-7724.
