Famous Dave’s employee accused defrauding $1,136 by using employee discount

SANDUSKY – An employee of the Cedar Point Famous Dave’s was charged with four felonies on May 30, after he allegedly used the employee discount to defraud Cedar Fair of $1,136.75.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, when a customer would pay with check, Curtis Fraise, 38, would allegedly apply an employee discount by using the ID number of other Cedar Fair employees. Fraise would allegedly pocket the extra money. This will make it so the customer would not lose or gain any money, but Cedar Fair would lose 20% of the original amount the customer paid.

Fraise was arrested at work. He was charged with one count of Felony Theft (F5) and three counts of Identity Fraud (F5). The theft charge was enhanced to a felony due to the amount allegedly stolen being in excess of $1,000. The identity fraud charges come from the accusation that the ID numbers of other employees – all of whom don’t work at Cedar Point – were used. Fraise also had an active warrant from Elyria for domestic violence.
