Huron’s Schlessman and Sherer Advance to State

At the Northwest Ohio Regional Cross Country Meet, Huron Runners, Kennedy Schlessman and Salvador Sherer advanced to the State Cross Country Meet. The Northwest Ohio Regional Cross Country Meet was held on Saturday, October 31 at Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin.

The Huron Tiger Boys Cross County Team finished in fourth place. In their race to qualify for state, a team had to come in the top three or an individually had to come in the top twelve. The Huron Runners finished as followed: Salvador Sherer (16:45, #6), Elijah Routh (16:58, #14), Nick Pack (17:23, #32), Trevor Poltorek (17:32, #39), Jacob Eck (17:49, #49), Andrew Scherley (18:05, #62), Connor Schuh (18:09, #64).

Schlessman finished in fifth place. Her time was 19:11. In her race to qualify for state, a team had to come in the top four or an individually had to come in the top sixteen. She was the only Huron runner at the Northwest Ohio Meet.

The State Cross Country Meet will be held on Saturday, November 7 at Fortress Obetz in Obetz (near Columbus).
