Local highway construction for the week of August 7

Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated by the Ohio Department of Transportation to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca counties during the week of August 7. Erie County. The intersection of State Route 4/State Route 99/Skadden Road, between Mason Road and Portland

Additionally, US Route 6 between Rye Beach Road and the Huron city limits will have daily lane closures for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers during working hours.

Huron County

State Route 103 between Willard and the village of Plymouth will be closed for culvert replacement. The closure will last for approximately 30 days. A detour is posted using State Route 598 and State Route 13.

Bridge deck repairs continue on US Route 20 in Monroeville. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction using temporary signals. Expect minor delays.

Lorain County

A major resurfacing project is underway on Interstate 90, between the Ohio Turnpike interchange and the Cuyahoga County line. Nighttime lane closures are in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers should watch for construction signs and reduced speed limits in work zones.

State Route 57 will experience daytime lane closures near the city of Lorain for guardrail replacement and shoulder work.

Ottawa County

State Route 163, between Port Clinton and Oak Harbor, is under a resurfacing project. Expect intermittent lane closures with flaggers directing traffic.

Bridge work continues on State Route 2 over the Sandusky Bay. Lane restrictions will be in place on both eastbound and westbound sides, and delays are likely during peak travel times.

Sandusky County

State Route 101 in Fremont will be reduced to one lane between Napoleon Road and Hayes Avenue for resurfacing. The project will include curb ramp upgrades to meet ADA standards.

A culvert replacement will close County Road 41 near Green Springs for two weeks. Detour signs will guide motorists around the work zone.

Seneca County

US Route 224, just east of Tiffin, will have single-lane closures for pavement repairs. Work is scheduled during daylight hours with traffic maintained by flaggers.

State Route 53 will be closed north of the city for bridge replacement. The posted detour routes traffic via State Route 18 and State Route 12. The closure is expected to last through the end of August.
