LIMA, Ohio – An inmate escaped from the Allen County Jail, causing a busy afternoon for local law enforcement.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office reported that just before 5 p.m., 21-year-old Zeeke Blayne Clarke smashed out a window in an interview room using a chair. He jumped out of the window and ran away.
Clarke wasn’t gone for long. Allen County sheriff’s deputies, with assistance from the Lima Police Department, apprehended him about a half hour later at a home in the 600 block of North Elizabeth Street. He was still in his striped jail pants.
Clarke was booked back into Allen County Jail on an escape charge. He had been arrested the night before for a misdemeanor drug charge. The circumstances surrounding his escape are still being investigated.
