Every April, Keep Akron Beautiful organizes “Clean Up Akron Month,” the largest volunteer effort in the city. Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition Cleanups
Regular cleanups of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and Summit Lake Park provide opportunities for hikers, families, and nature lovers to keep these natural areas clean. Events are usually held from 9 a.m. to noon and provide all necessary supplies, including gloves and bags. Volunteers need to register online and sign a waiver form.
