Vermilion, Ohio – An Ohio father pleaded guilty after using a cattle prod to discipline his children.

According to WOIO, 35-year-old Robert Bores of Berlin Heights, Ohio, pleaded guilty after using a cattle prod to discipline his two children, aged seven and eight at the time.

According to the outlet, Bores was arrested at his home in Florence Township on March 13, 2024, following a tip from Children Services to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.

“It’s alarming. “I’m not sure what would compel someone to use a cattle prod on children,” Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth told WJW reporters in 2024.

According to WJW, Bores has previously been convicted in two domestic violence cases in Vermilion Municipal Court, one in 2017 and the other in 2021.

According to the WOIO report, Bores pleaded guilty on Monday to the following counts:

Three counts of endangering children and a third count of domestic violence were dismissed, according to the station.

According to reports, Bores’ sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 11. WOIO reported that the children involved are being cared for by a relative.
