LIMA, Ohio — A two-alarm fire on Lima’s west side claimed the life of one person on Sunday morning.

Around 10 p.m., Lima firefighters were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Eureka St. for a house fire. The front half of the house was completely engulfed in flames, including the stairs to the second floor.

One person was on the porch when the fire broke out, and another was trapped inside and died in the blaze. The victim’s name has not yet been released, but the Red Cross has been called in to assist the other person who lived in the house. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but fire officials say the home is completely destroyed.
