LIMA, Ohio – Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center invites the public to a Healthy Block Party this Saturday.
The medical center has once again partnered with the Central Lima Neighborhood Association and Activate Allen County to host the “Here’s to Your Health” Block Party. According to organizers, the event provides an opportunity for residents to meet their neighbors and register for services they may not be aware of.
The event will have medical providers and screenings, financial services, and a food distribution. The block party will be held at Reading Park, in the 900 block of West North Street, which is conveniently located for many residents.
“Not everyone has the same access to providers and resources. So this event is right in the heart of downtown Lima, and it’s within walking distance of many different neighborhoods. Catherine Lusky, community health coordinator at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s, explained that it consolidates everything.
In conjunction with the block party, a “Bike Rodeo” will be held across from Reading Park, where children can learn proper safety signals and bike-riding techniques to keep them safe on their bikes.
