DELPHOS, Ohio – Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide in Delphos.
Delphos officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Bredeick Street late Monday afternoon following a report of gunshots heard inside a home. Investigators say they discovered the bodies of two adults inside the home. Both were transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for autopsy.
According to police, the preliminary investigation has revealed that the case is consistent with a murder/suicide, and a handgun was discovered at the scene. No names have been released as of yet, pending notification of family members.
Crime scene agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification assisted the Delphos Police Department.
DELPHOS, Ohio – On September 15, at 4:09 p.m., city police were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Bredeick Street in Delphos in response to reports of gunshots heard inside a residence. When city police arrived, they discovered two deceased adults inside the home.
City Police Investigators were assisted by Crime Scene Agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification, as well as the Van Wert County Coroner’s Office.
Both adults were later transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, where an autopsy will be conducted. The names of the deceased have yet to be released, pending notification of family members.
The preliminary investigation indicates that this case is consistent with a murder/suicide situation. A handgun was found at the scene.
As the investigation is ongoing, no additional information can be released.

City Police were assisted on the scene by the Marion Township Police Department, Delphos Fire and Rescue, and Delphos EMS. Park officers from the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park Division also came to help. The Van Wert Ohio State Patrol assisted the Delphos Police Department in securing the scene of an accident.
