Lima, Ohio — A Logan County teen was seriously injured in an early Saturday morning shooting on Lima’s north side.
According to Lima Police, the 17-year-old girl was transported to Mercy Health Saint Rita’s with a gunshot wound to the neck before being flown to the OSU hospital for treatment.
Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Lima detectives responded to reports of a shot fired in the 2200 block of Molly Avenue. During their investigation, they discovered that two carloads of Logan County juveniles were visiting someone at the apartment complex.
As they were leaving around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, more than one male subject opened fire on the 17-year-old victim’s SUV. The vehicles then headed to Mercy Health.

On September 13, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a vehicle was shot several times in the 2200 block of Molly Avenue. L.P.D. was notified of the shots fired via 9-1-1 calls from the Brower Commons Apartment Complex.
Shortly thereafter, a mid-size SUV arrived at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, carrying a 17-year-old Logan County female passenger with a gunshot wound to the neck. The female was initially treated for serious injuries before being transferred to Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
As detectives investigated, they discovered that two carloads of Logan County juveniles were visiting someone at the apartment complex. As they left the complex, more than one male subject ran towards the vehicles and fired several shots into the SUV, shooting the 17-year-old female. The vehicles exited the complex eastbound on Brower Road, eventually arriving at SRMC.
Investigators spoke with several occupants of the two vehicles, including the victim and the initial person of interest. We will continue to collect and investigate video from the area as the investigation progresses.
