MARION TOWNSHIP, Ohio – A woman collided with a semi on US 30 after an attempted traffic stop in Delphos early this morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lima Post, around 1:48 a.m., Delphos Police attempted a traffic stop on Fifth Street. According to officials, Taneesha Stuckey, 36, of Bryan, failed to stop and continued on US 30, entering the highway in the wrong direction.
Stuckey drove about a half mile before entering the grass median to try to get into the eastbound lane of traffic, but she was hit by an eastbound semi, and her car rolled over on its side. Stuckey was extricated and transported to Mercy Health – St. Rita’s with potentially life-threatening injuries. The semi driver was treated on the scene.
Stuckey was not wearing his seatbelt. According to the State Patrol, alcohol or drugs have not been ruled out as contributing factors to the crash, which is still being investigated.
MARION TOWNSHIP, Ohio – On September 12, 2025, at 1:48 a.m., officers from the Delphos Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop with a vehicle on Fifth St. in the City of Delphos. The vehicle failed to stop and proceeded to US Route 30, where it entered the highway in the wrong direction. Taneesha S. Stuckey, 36, of Bryan, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox and began traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes. Ms. Stuckey drove in the wrong direction on US Route 30 for nearly a half mile before entering the grass median to try to enter the eastbound lanes. When Ms. Stuckey entered the eastbound lanes, she was struck by an eastbound 2025 International Semi-Truck and trailer driven by Alex J. Chance, 50, of Ashland. Ms. Stuckey’s car was pushed into the median and rolled over onto its side. The semi-truck came to a controlled stop on the right berm of the eastbound lanes.
Ms. Stuckey was mechanically extricated and transported to Mercy Health St. Rita’s Hospital by Delphos EMS, where she suffered potentially life-threatening injuries. Mr. Chance was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Ms. Stuckey was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and alcohol and/or drugs have not been ruled out as contributing factors. Mr. Chance was reportedly wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be involved. Both vehicles suffered disabling damage.
The Delphos Police Department, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Delphos Fire and EMS, and Miller Performance Towing all assisted troopers on the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
