American Township, Ohio — Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers reported that two people were killed in a morning crash on SR 115 near U.S. 30.
Troopers identified the victims as Sean Triplett, 40, of Kentucky, and Joann Kahle, 60, of Fort Jennings. The collision involved four vehicles. According to troopers, the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. when Triplett was driving north on SR 115 and went left of center, colliding with Morgan Krouse, 24, of Kalida, who was in the southbound lane. Her SUV was then forced left of center, colliding with Thora George, 30, of Lima.
Triplett continued in the wrong lane and collided with Kahle’s vehicle, forcing it off the road. Both Kahle and Triplett were pronounced dead on the scene. Krouse and George were treated on the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
American Township – On September 10, 2025, at approximately 08:33 a.m., the Lima Post of The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on State Route 115 near US 30 in American Township, Allen County.
Sean Triplett, age 40, of Florence, Kentucky, was driving a 2009 Toyota Avalon northbound on State Route 115. Triplett drove left of center, colliding with a southbound 2025 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Morgan Krouse, 24, of Kalida. Triplett continued in the wrong lane of travel and collided with a southbound 2022 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Joann Kahle, 60, of Fort Jennings. Kahle was forced off the right side of the road.
Krouse was forced left of center and collided with a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Thora George, 30, of Lima. Triplett and Kahle were pronounced dead at the scene. Triplett wasn’t wearing a safety belt. Krouse and George were both treated and released from the scene, despite potential injuries.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office, Allen Mortuary Services, American Township Fire and EMS, American Township Police Department, Lima Fire Department, Able Wrecker Service, Knippen Chrysler Dodge Jeep, and Kenny’s Auto Kare all assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol on the scene.
