This week’s award goes to Van Wert for an incredible sequence during their Western Buckeye League game against Bath.
In the first quarter, trailing by seven, Xavier Kelly passed the ball to Zach Crummey, who quickly shoveled it to Micah Cowan.
When it appeared that Cowan was in trouble, he lofted a pass toward Geary Hilleary.
The senior made an outstanding catch to prevent an incompletion before crossing the goal line for the game-tying touchdown.
Three Cougars touched the ball before it reached Hilleary’s hands, demonstrating true teamwork.
Although Van Wert lost 35-28, the Cougars can be proud of a highlight-reel play that earned them this week’s Play of the Week award.
