Bakersfield, California – A man’s body was discovered along a road in Mojave Saturday afternoon, prompting the Kern County Sheriff’s Office to launch an investigation.
Officials said deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of Trotter Avenue around 12:09 p.m. after a passerby discovered human remains.
Homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene, but the cause of death could not be established. A spokesperson described the body as that of a man in his fifties.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will identify the man later.
