Friday, August 29, 2025.
At 0458 hrs., deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.
0926 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 224 in Harrison Township after receiving an automated iPhone message indicating a possible crash. The incident was unfounded.
At 1000 a.m., deputies responded to a trespassing complaint at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.
At 1006 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a loose dog on East Sycamore Street in Van Wert.
At 11:16 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a loose dog on Bonnewitz Avenue in Van Wert.
At 1208 hrs., deputies responded to a residence on Main Street in the Village of Venedocia for a report of four ducks and one chicken that had been killed.
At 1253 hrs., deputies responded to a criminal mischief complaint on West Tully Street in the Village of Convoy.
1256 hrs. – Van Wert EMS was dispatched to a location on North Washington Street in the City of Van Wert for a motor vehicle crash report.
1319 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Prospect Avenue in the City of Van Wert for a motorist who was locked out of their vehicle.
At 1431 hrs., deputies responded to a home on Dull Robinson Road in Pleasant Township for two loose dogs that had killed some chickens on Zook Road.
At 1459 hrs., deputies responded to an area of Sidle Road in Pleasant Township for a report of two loose dogs.
1639 hrs. – Middle Point EMS was dispatched to a location on Ringwald Road in Ridge Township where a subject had passed out and fallen.
1744 hrs. – Van Wert EMS responded to the Van Wert County Fairgrounds for a diabetic emergency.
Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert County Common Pleas Court for Felony Possession of Heroin and Aggravated Possession of Drugs. Ashley Nichole McCarthy, 42, of Van Wert, was transferred to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
At 2138 hrs., Convoy EMS was dispatched to a residence on Oak Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject complaining of back pain.
2224 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Flager Road in Liberty Township to check on the well-being of a resident.

At 0347 hrs., deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.
0715 hrs. – Deputies responded to a report of two loose dogs on Hughes Street in the city of Van Wert.
At 0756 hrs., deputies responded to an area on the Van Wert County Fairgrounds for an open line 911 call.
0852 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Woodland Avenue in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist who was locked out of their vehicle.
0902 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Lincoln Highway in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist who was locked out of their vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched to an area on the Van Wert County Fairgrounds at 1018 a.m. to investigate a harassment complaint.
At 1515 hrs., deputies responded to a report of reckless driving on U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township.
Deputies and Van Wert EMS responded to a medical alarm at a residence on Old Tile Factory Road in Pleasant Township at 1634 hours.
At 1648 hrs., deputies responded to a report of an unruly juvenile on the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.
2009 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on East Tully Street in the Village of Convoy to check on the well-being of residents.
2101 hrs. – Middle Point EMS was dispatched to a residence on Bebb Street in the Village of Venedocia to assist a fallen subject.
At 2135 hrs., Van Wert EMS was dispatched to the Van Wert County Fairgrounds for a subject with a laceration.
2338 hrs. – Van Wert EMS was dispatched to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township for a patient with low blood pressure.
Sunday, August 31, 2025.
1036 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of South Shannon Street in Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police Department.
At 1314 hrs., Delphos EMS was dispatched to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Washington Township for a seizure.
1543 hrs. – Convoy EMS was dispatched to a residence on Harrison Willshire Road in Harrison Township for a person who had fallen.
At 1558 hrs., deputies spoke with a resident on Course Road in Washington Township about a fraud report.
At 1753 hrs., deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township for a report of reckless driving.
1837 hrs. – Deputies, Middle Point Fire, and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on State Route 116 in Ridge Township. Clifford Beach of Marietta, Georgia, was driving a 2014 Ford Escape westbound on State Route 116 when he collided with Unit Two near the Mendon Road intersection. Unit Two, a 2019 Honda CRV driven by Kysen Hire of Van Wert, was heading north on Mendon Road. Unit Two failed to yield at the stop sign on Mendon Road and State Route 116. Middle Point EMS treated the occupants of Unit Two on scene.
At 2239 hrs., deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity on Bonnewitz Avenue in the city of Van Wert.
2333 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on North Race Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist who was locked out of their vehicle.

At 0159 hrs., deputies responded to a location on North Franklin Street in Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police Department.
At 0235 hrs., deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Tully Township for a report of a vehicle driving in the wrong lanes.
At 0703 hrs., deputies responded to a report of a loose dog on East Main Street in Van Wert.
1137 a.m. – Convoy EMS was dispatched to a residence on Glenmore Road in Willshire Township for a subject experiencing stroke symptoms.
1201 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on West Jackson Street in the Village of Middle Point to assist a motorist who was locked out of their vehicle.
At 1445 hrs., deputies responded to a residence on Convoy Road in Tully Township to assist a motorist who was locked out of their vehicle.
1645 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a Walnut Street resident in the Village of Convoy about a telecommunications harassment complaint.
