A woman died after being thrown in a Vermilion crash

Vermilion, Ohio –  A 34-year-old woman died early Sunday morning after crashing her truck on a Vermilion road.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which is investigating the accident, Sarah Gehringer of Wakeman, Ohio was driving a Dodge Dakota on Darrow Road, just east of Furnace Street, around 12:15 Sunday morning.

According to OSHP, she was driving too fast after exiting a curve and lost control of the truck. Her car went off the left side of the road, colliding with a utility pole and two trees. The impact threw her from the vehicle.

Gehringer was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to OSHP, she was not wearing a seatbelt, and drugs and alcohol appeared to play a role in the crash.

The incident is still under investigation.
