Sioux Falls, South Dakota – A Sisseton man has been sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon and sexual abuse of a minor, according to the United States Department of Justice.

Chauncey Allen White, 31, received a two-year and eight-month sentence for a dangerous weapon assault charge. He was also sentenced to 26 years and eight months for sexual abuse of a minor.

This is followed by three and five years of supervised release, with a $300 fine to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. White must also register as a sex offender after his release.

White faces an assault with a dangerous weapon charge stemming from an incident in late February 2023. He assaulted his romantic partner with a knife when she attempted to end their relationship. According to federal reports, White was in the victim’s car at work when he threatened her. The victim was able to escape with no physical injuries.

The sexual abuse of a minor charge occurred in 2014. White, who was 20-21 years old at the time, gave alcohol to two teenage girls who became “heavily intoxicated and lost consciousness,” according to a DOJ news release. He raped both girls while they were unconscious in their Lake Traverse Reservation home.

A federal grand jury indicted White on his first charge in March 2024 and again in June 2024. He pleaded guilty to using a dangerous weapon on November 28, 2024, and sexually abusing a minor on June 9, 2025.
