LIMA, Ohio – Lima’s VFW Post 1275 will close for the rest of the year due to rising costs and low membership.
Last November, the City of Lima approved the purchase of the post on East Elm Street. Before closing, they will hold a move-out sale over the weekend. The city says it intends to use the site to continue developing the downtown Lima area.
The VFW will remain closed for the remainder of the year, and they intend to look for a new location at the start of next year.
“We have just about everything; we have a lot of dishes, roasters, electrical stuff, and some outdoor stuff, grills, tent covers, and so on,” said Mark Rader, senior vice commander of Lima VFW Post 1275.
The sale is cash only and takes place Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m.
