Fort Wayne, Indiana – A 36-year-old convicted child molester is wanted by police after allegedly cutting his ankle monitor last week.
Corey Wickline pleaded guilty to two sex crimes in 2020 and was sentenced to ten years in prison followed by five years probation under a plea agreement. The agreement dismissed two child molesting charges, with a combined potential sentence of 52 years in prison.
The young girl identified Wickline as her abuser, according to a probable cause affidavit. Wickline told a Fort Wayne police sergeant that if he had sexually abused the girl, he “wouldn’t be here.”
“I’d be running, to be honest with you,” Wickline stated, according to court documents.
According to court records obtained by 21Investigates, Wickline was released from prison last month and has begun serving his probation with Allen County Community Corrections. As part of the program, he must wear a GPS ankle monitor to track his location.
However, dispatchers received alerts on Friday that Wickline’s ankle monitor had been tampered with, according to court records. A sheriff’s deputy discovered the monitor on Fishing Line Trail with a severed strap.
Wickline was nowhere to be found.
A warrant for his arrest was issued over the weekend.
Wickline is white, 5’11” tall, and weighs approximately 250 pounds. He’s got gray hair and brown eyes.
Wickline has several tattoos, including a skull face on his right arm, skulls on his right leg, and a cross on his left arm.
