A new Daktronics scoreboard is now operational at Joe Quintal Stadium, just in time for the fall athletic season, thanks to a Bankwest grant.

Activities Director Corey Aadland says it’s something he’s wanted for a long time. “This wasn’t in my plan for another five years until Bankwest came in and they completely changed my plan,” Aadland told the reporter. “So thanks to their very generous support we were able to include this in the project.”

Liz Salmonson is the Bankwest branch manager. She brought the project to the attention of the bank’s management. “It was no question,” Salmonson said. “They wanted to look at the whole project and how we could give back to the school district.”

Brittni Flood, president of the Mitchell School Board, is grateful. “We just really want to thank Bankwest,” Flood said. “We wouldn’t be able to do this without them and also their help with the indoor scoreboards as well.”

The new Daktronics scoreboard features higher resolution images, animation, crisp sound, and cutting-edge controls.

It will make its debut during Saturday’s soccer matches.
