Social Security Payment Schedule for August 2025 and What to Do If Your Deposit Is Late

In August 2025, the Social Security Administration (SSA) continues to follow its usual monthly payment schedule, impacting millions of Americans. Depending on the date of birth, individuals receive their payments on specific days throughout the month. For those born between the 1st and 10th, payments have already been made, with deposits arriving on Wednesday, August 13. Those born between the 11th and 20th will receive their payments on Wednesday, August 20, and individuals born from the 21st to the 31st will receive their payments on Wednesday, August 27.

However, beneficiaries who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or those who began receiving benefits before May 1997 have a different payment schedule. These individuals received their deposits on August 1. Additionally, due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September payments have been brought forward to Thursday, August 29, resulting in a double deposit within the same month.

The reason some individuals have not yet received their payment is simply due to their assigned payment date based on their birth month. If your payment was scheduled later in the month, it’s not a delay but rather part of the official SSA payment structure.

If you are waiting for a payment and the expected date has passed without it being reflected, it’s advised to wait three business days. Sometimes, deposits can take a little extra time to process. Check your bank account or Social Security debit card to see if the deposit has been made. If after several days you still have not received your payment, it’s important to contact the Social Security office for further assistance.
