The Allen County Coroner's Office has issued a ruling on the double death investigation

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — An apparent domestic dispute ended Saturday morning with the deaths of two people. The Allen County Coroner’s Office conducted autopsies and determined that the deaths were murder-suicides.

Officers from multiple police departments were dispatched to the 9300 block of Morning Light Trail, northeast of the intersection of Maysville and Landin roads, just before 9:30 a.m., following reports of a possible domestic battery in progress. When officers from the New Haven Police Department, Allen County Sheriff’s Department, and Fort Wayne Police Department arrived at the residence, they discovered two people dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The coroner’s office identified the two as Rickita Lanae Washington, 38, and Odie Lionel Sanders, 46, both of Fort Wayne.

Washington died from a gunshot wound to the head, and her death was ruled homicide. Sanders also died from a gunshot wound to the head, which has been ruled a suicide.
