Allen County, Indiana.— A heavy police presence was observed in New Haven, where a shooting investigation began on Saturday.
On Saturday at 8:52 a.m., dispatch requested first responders to a possible domestic battery in progress in the 9300 block of Morning Light Trail, just north of New Haven.
The location is considered a jurisdictional boundary between Allen County, Fort Wayne, and New Haven, which explains the high police presence. There were more than 20 vehicles on the scene.
When officers arrived at the apartment, they discovered a man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds.
Police were called to the same residence the day before for a domestic dispute, but when they arrived, they were unable to contact the people inside and assumed they had left or the dispute had ended.
Detectives from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and investigators from the Allen County Coroner’s Office are currently conducting an investigation.
