The Put-in-Bay Fire Department reported that one person was injured when two boats caught fire near Put-in-Bay on Saturday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., security personnel near the dock alerted firefighters after a boat filled with gas exploded, according to the department.

The owner of the boat jumped into the water, and the boat drifted into another boat moored in the bay, catching fire, according to the department.
The owner who jumped into the water was rescued and airlifted off the island by EMS, according to the department.
The U.S. Coast Guard, Put-in-Bay Fire, and EMS extinguished both fires, according to the department.
At this time, the cost of damages is unknown, but the department stated that both boats appear to be total losses.
