UPDATE One died in Wednesday 10th Street collision

Sioux Falls, South Dakota – A woman died in a crash near 10th Street and Cliff Avenue in Sioux Falls on Wednesday night.

The collision caused 10th Street, up to Fairfax Avenue, to close for approximately four hours.

A 2013 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on 10th Street at high speed when it collided with another car that had stopped facing west.

The Explorer continued driving until it collided with a truck traveling north on Cliff Avenue.

A 30-year-old woman was driving the Ford Explorer and was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. Police discovered a passenger in the car who had died at the scene.

The drivers of the other two vehicles involved have non-life-threatening injuries. According to spokesman Aaron Benson, speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.

The passenger who died has not been identified. There are no charges filed.
