Bakersfield, California – A man died and a woman was injured in a head-on collision on California City Boulevard Sunday night.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol Mojave Area were dispatched to California City Boulevard near Joshua Boulevard at 8:48 p.m. for a report of a crash.
A man drove a BMW southbound on California City Boulevard, while a woman drove a Kia northbound. For reasons unknown, the Kia crossed the broken yellow lines and entered the southbound lanes.
The Kia and BMW collided head on. The man driving the BMW was pronounced dead on the scene.
The woman driving the Kia was transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.
CHP officials stated that impairment is not suspected in this crash at this time.
