BARSTOW, CA >> Hundreds of nails were scattered along southbound Interstate 15 on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 5:54 p.m. on August 3, 2025, on southbound I-15, just after the Lenwood Road exit.
The spill affected all traffic lanes, and multiple vehicles ran over the box of nails. CHP reported that at least one vehicle had pulled over to the shoulder due to a flat tire.
CHP officers responded quickly to the scene and issued a traffic stop to pick up nails from the road.
It’s unclear how it happened or whether any other vehicles drove over the nails.
