Three people were seriously injured in a crash in Auglaize County on Wednesday night.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Wapakoneta Post were dispatched to the intersection of SR 197 and Conant Road in Logan Township around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a two-vehicle crash.
According to the OSHP, a white SUV was traveling south on Conant Road and a blue pickup truck was heading west on SR 197.
At the intersection of SR 197 and Conant Road, the SUV failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the pickup.
Both vehicles left the road and drove into a cornfield. The pickup rolled over and came to a stop on its top.
The driver of the SUV suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the OSHP.
The pickup truck driver was seriously injured, and the passenger sustained life-threatening injuries.
All three were transported to Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center for treatment.
OVI is thought to be a factor in this crash. Troopers suspect the SUV’s driver was impaired while driving.
The crash is still under investigation.
