A mishap near New Ulm claimed two lives and injured three

On Tuesday afternoon, two vehicles collided south of New Ulm, killing two and injuring three.

The crash occurred at 1:45 p.m. on Highway 15 at 170 Street, with the Minnesota State Patrol reporting that a 2015 Dodge Caravan was stopped for construction when it was struck by a Nissan Altima.

The 75-year-old woman driving the Dodge and the 83-year-old man in the passenger seat died as a result of their injuries. Both come from Madelia, Minnesota.

An 18-year-old woman from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, drove the Nissan, which carried ten-year-old passengers. All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash continues. The victims’ names are expected to be revealed later on Wednesday.
