The Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office is looking into an allegation of a prowler at a residence on East State Avenue in Estelline early Monday morning, July 21, 2025.
Authorities received a report at 8:58 a.m. about an incident that occurred between 4:45 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. earlier that day. The caller stated that a neighbor’s light turned on, lighting a person standing near the caller’s door, maybe peeking inside the house. The person then fled the scene.
The guy was described as standing between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt.
The Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office advises anyone who witnesses unusual behavior in the area to notify them right away at 605-783-3232. Additionally, Estelline residents who have home security cameras are encouraged to analyze their footage from approximately the mentioned time (4:45 AM to 5:00 AM on July 21st) for any unusual activity.
