A Port Clinton woman will go to prison for her role in the street takeovers that paralyzed Cleveland last fall.
Today, a judge sentenced Ashlyn Rogers, 23, to 18 months in prison for disrupting public service and 12 months in prison for aggravated riot. The sentences should run concurrently.
Rogers refused to look at the prosecution’s evidence in court, which included videos and text messages from her cell phone.
The evidence revealed a pattern by Rogers in the days preceding her participation in other takeovers.
On September 28 and 29, 2024, the city was shut down for hours as drivers did donuts around police cars, people fired airsoft guns at officers, and set off fireworks.
The final incident occurred on Interstate 90, when a party bus was attacked by a masked mob during a highway takeover.

On September 28, prosecutors stated that Rogers used her Instagram account to post rules, locations, and links to the illegal activity. She was also a spectator or someone who blocked intersections.
“The state is not arguing that she planned each individual occasion, but she increased the illegal activity,” Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Connor Davin said.
Brad Wolfe, Rogers’ defense attorney, told the judge that the real consequences of felony guilty pleas will far outlast the sentence imposed.
“Her reputation and her family’s are tarnished for a very long time, if not forever,” Wolfe, her lawyer, said.
Rogers read a statement in court.
“I’d like to express that I accept full responsibility for my actions. I understand that what I did was wrong, and I deeply regret the decisions that led me here. I’m not here to justify or minimize my actions, but to express my sincere regret and accept responsibility for the harm caused by my decisions,” Rogers stated.
Rogers buried her face in her hands as the judge read her sentence.
In addition to the prison sentence, she must forfeit her 2020 Infiniti Q50.
Rogers will serve a year and a half in prison because his sentences are concurrent.
The judge gave her a two-day jail sentence credit.
