Most Ohioans to be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine by the end of March

Columbus, OH – Governor Mike DeWine announced Phase 1E, 2C, and 2D of of Ohio’s Vaccination Program Tuesday Morning.

Phase 1E applies to individuals living with cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart disease, and obesity. Phase 1E goes into effect on Friday, March 19.

Phase 2C applies to individuals over the age of 40. Like Phase 1E, Phase 2C goes into effect on Friday, March 19.

Phase 2D applies to individuals over the age of 16. Right now, the youngest a person in America can be to get a COVID-19 vaccine is 16. Phase 2D goes into effect on Monday, March 29.

Governor DeWine said, “It’s a moral imperative that we move as quickly as we can to vaccinate all Ohioans who wish to be vaccinated. We expect a significant increase in vaccines coming to Ohio soon, so we will expand vaccine eligibility.”
