Bakersfield, California — Three Romanians from the Los Angeles area were charged with multiple counts of EBT fraud on Monday in Kern County court. They are being held without bail.
Camelia Ionita, 41, Vasile Barbu, 44, and Briceag Ionita, 49, are due back in court on July 22 for a bail review hearing.
They were arrested on July 2 in Fresno. Prosecutors say they seized 181 cloned EBT cards, $42,866 in cash, and electronic devices used to commit fraud.
