SANDUSKY, Ohio – Riders had to be escorted off Cedar Point’s new roller coaster, Siren’s Curse, when it became stuck again Wednesday night.
WOIO obtained video showing people being evacuated from the 160-foot new ride.
Siren’s Curse, which opened to riders on June 28, “experienced a delay that paused the ride’s operation,” according to Cedar Point spokesperson Tony Clark.
Guests were escorted off the ride after it failed to restart.
People who were at the park reported that riders were stuck for nearly 40 minutes.
Clark stated that the ride’s safety system performed as intended.
This is the second time the ride has become stuck since its opening. Last Saturday, the ride became stuck in the “vertical position for approximately 10 minutes.”
Some riders reported that the time was closer to 20 minutes.
