50 years of community service is being celebrated by New Bremen EMS

NEW BREMEN, Ohio — For 50 years, the New Bremen EMS has been available when residents needed it the most. On Sunday, they held a public open house to celebrate their golden anniversary.

Visitors were able to inspect the squad’s vehicles and equipment, while retired volunteers reminisced about their time on the squad and shared memories of notable emergency runs from the past. Current EMS members thanked the New Bremen community for its continued support over the last 50 years.

“Even when we have a major incident with the fire department, such as a large structure fire, the community will come to assist us. They’ll bring us water and food, if necessary. They will help us in any way we need. We have wonderful volunteers to assist us. Larry Weimert, President of the New Bremen Emergency Squad, said, “We’re glad to see them here, and they’ll see everything we’re doing for them.”

The New Bremen EMS currently has about a dozen volunteers, but they are always looking for more to help serve the residents of southern Auglaize County.
