39 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed and six new deaths this week in Erie County

Columbus, OH and Sandusky, OH – This week in Erie County, 39 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 4,580. Six more people died from COVID-19. 197 people have now died from COVID-19 in Erie County. 15 more people were hospitalized from COVID-19. 653 people have now been hospitalized from COVID-19 at Firelands Regional Medical Center. As of Friday, 11 people are currently being treated at Firelands Regional Medical Center. 130 people are also currently under quarantine or isolation.

Since Thursday in the State of Ohio, 1,342 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 841,724. 115 people were hospitalized. 51,438 people have now been hospitalized from COVID-19 in Ohio. 84,188 people begun the vaccination process. 2,241,145 people in Ohio or 19.17% of Ohio’s population have now begun the vaccination process. 53,202 people also finished the vaccination process. 1,294,451 people or 11.07% of Ohio’s population have now finished the vaccination process. Since Tuesday, 209 Ohioans died from COVID-19. 17,871 Ohioans have now died from COVID-19.
