Pontiac Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges in Deadly Drive-By Shooting

Pontiac, MI – A 32-year-old Pontiac man, Tremaine Jevon Love, is facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting that killed a 26-year-old Auburn Hills resident.

Charges and Incident Details

Love was arraigned on Tuesday, facing charges of first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and two counts of felony firearm—second offense. The charges stem from the June 13 shooting that resulted in the death of Thomas Jerrell Washington, who was found near Auburn and Russell in Pontiac.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, authorities allege that Love fired multiple rounds from a gray vehicle before fleeing west on Auburn Road. Paramedics arrived to find Washington with gunshot wounds to his wrist and back. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but later pronounced dead.

Arrest and Law Enforcement Praise

After a coordinated investigation, detectives were able to locate Love’s vehicle hours later. A traffic stop was conducted at Middlebelt and Long Lake roads in West Bloomfield Township, where Love was arrested without incident. He is currently being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard praised the law enforcement efforts in the case, stating, “I have said numerous times that a small number of people commit a large number of violent crimes. Given his background, it reaffirms my point.”

Potential Consequences

If convicted of first-degree murder, Love faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
