LIMA, Ohio – The City of Lima is one step closer to opening its much-anticipated community aquatic park.
Mayor Sharetta Smith spoke at the Lima Rotary Club on Monday, providing an update on the park’s progress.
The city has signed an agreement with Sports Facilities Companies to manage the park and is currently finalizing admission prices. The mayor expects the pool to open in early July for everyone’s enjoyment.
“I just want to remind everyone that we’re not just building a pool, we’re building a destination, a place for families to gather, a place for individuals to learn to swim,” the mayor said.
“We are all excited to be able to open this facility; one of the benefits is that it will serve as one of our community’s entry points. It allows people to get a sense of what Lima has to offer.
A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Friday, June 27th, at 10 a.m. The public is invited to tour the facility and learn more about the upcoming opening.
