Over 12,000 Erie County residents have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine

Columbus, OH and Sandusky, OH – The Erie County Health Department announced Thursday that over 12,000 Erie County residents or about 16.25% of Erie County’s population have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. 8.98% have received both doses of the vaccine and are considered fully immunized against COVID-19.

Phase 3B and 4 of Ohio’s Vaccination Program went into effect Thursday. Approximately 941,000 additional Ohioans are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Since Wednesday in the State of Ohio, 1,270 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 833,772. 82 people were hospitalized. 50,695 people have now been hospitalized from COVID-19 in Ohio. 44,352 people begun the vaccination process. 1,803,091 people in Ohio or 15.43% of Ohio’s population have now begun the vaccination process. 21,936 people also finished the vaccination process. 984,471 people or 8.42% of Ohio’s population have now finished the vaccination process. Deaths were not reported today.
