1,047 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Ohio; Ohio Department of Health announces change to COVID-19 death reporting

Columbus, OH – Since Monday in the State of Ohio, 1,047 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 831,329. 121 people were hospitalized. 50,503 people have now been hospitalized from COVID-19 in Ohio. 38,308 people begun the vaccination process. 1,725,712 people in Ohio or 14.76% of Ohio’s population have now begun the vaccination process. 26,276 people also finished the vaccination process. 938,600 people or 8.03% of Ohio’s population have now finished the vaccination process.

The Ohio Department of Health also announced Tuesday that they will be changing the way deaths are reported. Deaths will now only be reported twice a week. The department claims that this will make the death count more accurate. The amount of deaths was also lowered to 16,750. The 16,750 deaths are Ohio resident deaths.
