Richard Barnes

Richard Allen Barnes, 77, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, Feb 24, 2021 at his home with his family around him.

He was born July 4, 1943 in Morgantown, WV and has been a resident of Huron for the past 25 years.

He was a self-employed carpenter (Barnes Construction) in the area and worked for 40 plus years. In the last 10 years he worked for Home Depot, Sandusky.

He was a member of Mt. Harvest Church of God, Milan. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar and gardening for his pastimes.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Gibson) Barnes, of Huron, married to for 20 years; three daughters, Kellie (Joe) Teeple, Dawn (Shawn) Rachul, and Sherrena (Brian) Bilgen; two sons, Richard Barnes Jr. and Jason Freeman; 13 grandchildren, Scott Stevens, Angelina Ryan, Jaiden, Jared and Joseph Teeple Jr, Dominic Barnes, Yavay and Nolan Faflik, Amber Patterson, Alias, Brady, Farrah, and Maggie Freeman; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy King; and brothers, Charles Barnes, and Paul Hevner Jr; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Edith (Smith) Barnes; his step-father, Paul Hevner Sr; a brother, Clarence “Bud” Barnes; and an infant grandson, Jacob Barnes.

A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 6th at 11 a.m. at Mt, Harvest Church of God, 150 SSR 113 West, Milan, with Pastor Carl Woodyard and Joe Woodyard officiating.

Burial will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, at a later date.
