Ohio nursing homes may be able to allow more visitation soon

Columbus, OH – Because of declining COVID-19 numbers in Ohio, Ohio nursing homes may be able to allow more visitation soon.

Governor Mike DeWine said at Monday’s Ohio Coronavirus Press Conference, “We’re seeing positivity rates decrease. Soon, more nursing homes may be able to allow more visitation.”

Last week, long-term care facilities in Ohio reported 343 new cases. This is a a big difference from when 2,832 new cases were reported during the peak in December.

It was also announced at the press conference, that all Moderna and several Pfizer vaccine shipments have been delayed due to weather. Because of this, many appointments for distributing the COVID-19 vaccine have had to be rescheduled. The backlogged shipments are expected to arrive this week.
