In a tragic case that unfolded in Alabama, Arkeem Marshall, a 33-year-old man, has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of TiMira Pullom, the mother of his child.
The jury took just 15 minutes to convict him of capital murder for the September 2023 shooting, but the subsequent sentencing proceedings became complicated and emotionally charged.

On the day of the crime, Marshall and Pullom had been involved in an argument about their relationship, specifically about Marshall moving out of her home. Remarkably, the argument was close to being resolved when things took a fatal turn.
Marshall had his bags packed and was waiting for a ride, but the dispute escalated once again. “She kept on yelling at me,” Marshall later told law enforcement. “I just snapped. I pulled the gun and shot her.”
Six shots were fired, with Pullom being struck four times. Their 17-month-old son was in the house at the time, witnessing the horrific event.
Pullom’s family has been left heartbroken, especially her mother, who expressed that she cries every day over the loss. “But I know I can cry and cry and cry, and she won’t come back in this lifetime,” she said during a victim impact statement.
Marshall’s Desire for Execution

Jefferson County Chief Deputy District Attorney Joe Roberts sharply criticized Marshall for his actions. “TiMira Pullom had never been anything but kind to the defendant. She had never done anything but try to help the defendant,” Roberts said. “And how did this defendant repay her? By putting four bullets into her body, killing her while their 17-month-old son, Trent, was nearby.”
